Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Russia Yaroslav Basta has called the Days of Czech Culture that have ended in Moscow "very successful." During this festival, the Muscovites had a chance to visit exhibitions reflecting the national character of the republic, to see feature films and documentaries, and to listen to classic and gypsy music. Such contacts, in the opinion of the ambassador, "should contribute to the relations between people and to the development of cultures in both countries." The treaty on cultural cooperation between Russia and the Czech Republic can be signed in November, this year, when Czech Minister of Culture Pavel Dostal arrives in the Russian capital. The Days of Russian Culture in the Czech Republic are planned to be held in 2003.
