The presentation of Russian publishing houses participating in the world's largest book fair in Frankfurt-am-Mein is to take place Thursday. According to Nikolai Ovsyannikov, a high official in the Russian Press Ministry, 99 Publishing houses are representing Russia in Frankfurt this year. To quote Ovsyannikov, the originality of the Russian exposition is achieved first of all due to the collection of talented graphic works by graduates of the Moscow Academy of the Press. The Russian exposition features the books that won the 14th Moscow International Book Fair competition. Altogether Russia represents about 1,000 books published in 2000-2001. A total of 6,671 publishing houses from 105 countries are participating in the fair featuring over 400,000 books.
