Two Cold Case Files Resolved in New York

20 years ago, Philip "Phil Lucky" Giaccone and Dominick "Big Trin" Trinchera, disappeared off the face of the map, and their files were moved into what is called Cold Case Files.  Cold Case Files are suspected crimes that have no clues or evidence – the term is used primarily in missing persons investigations.

A tip from an FBI informant, led investigators to a vacant lot located in Queens, New York.  The FBI has been digging in the lot since Oct 4, and yesterday, the found the remains of the two mafia capos.  A Caop is the person who passes the boss’s orders down to the ‘soldiers’.   Essentially, middle management.

Authorities believe that the vacant lot might also hold the remains of other’s who were targeted by the mob, to include Luchese family associates Joseph Spione and Thomas DeSimone and John Favara, a Queens furniture store manager, who they say was killed because he accidentally ran over the 12-year-old son of former Gambino mob boss, John Gotti, when he darted from behind a garbage container.
