British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, seems to be getting a little nervous about associating with Bush these days.
Bush managed to get congress to award the Congressional Medal of Honor to Tony Blair, Prime Minister of Britain. Blair is not taking the bait and Bush is putting up a fuss about Mr. Blair to coming to America and accepting the medal. Bush’s agenda is simple. Bush knows that Blair is popular in the US and coming to the US would provide a boost to Bush’s reelection campaign.
Blair’s advisors are telling him to ignore it, and Blair seems to be listening. A senior British Government source said "But he has refused for more than a year now and for good reason. He cannot possibly accept an award for the Iraq War when British and American troops continue to risk their lives there”
Bush is not letting up on his demands for a Blair appearance. The White House has already said Bush is extremely miffed because of this matter and he will use this to pressure Blair and get him over here.
Blair is facing some nasty scrutiny and he wants to end the quagmire of England’s Iraq involvement. His own polls are turning against him because of Iraq. Blair’s insistence on defending, Bush after no weapons of mass destruction were found, is a sore spot in British politics and the British minds.
If Bush gets any madder, are we going to attack England?
