Bulgarian President is concerned about the country's troops in Iraq.

Chasing terrorists out of Karbala is not among Bulgarians' tasks, the President said Tuesday.
Georgi Parvanov met with Bulgarian journalists to make an overview of his Sunday trip to Iraq. He spent several hours at the Bulgarian Kilo base, talked with the soldiers as well as with Polish commanders. He flew back to Bulgaria late on Sunday night.

On Tuesday, the President insisted that coalition partners should provide immediate back up for the Bulgarian unit. He warned that supporters of radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in Karbala were mounting.

Following Parvanov's return, there were reports that his cortege came under gunfire in Karbala.

On Tuesday, the President suggested the attackers were most probably unaware of his presence. Insurgents fire at every single coalition vehicle, Parvanov explained. That's simply how things are in Karbala, which is not much of a relief, he said.
