Goalkeeper Semion Varlamov was again instrumental in keeping Russia’s scoresheet clean. Meanwhile five Russian players slammed the puck in the back of Vehanen’s net. Sergei Federov started the rout, Evgeni Malkin followed. Nikolai Kulemin added the third, Aleksei Emelin the fourth and finally, Maksim Afinogenov the fifth.
