Living Wage in Russia not Enough for British Cat

The living wage in Russia is practically the same as the living optimum of a British cat
In general, a British dog owner spends about 981 pounds a year to maintain the pet. Keeping a cat is cheaper, 476 pounds a year.

Sainsbury's Bank issued a report saying that the whole of the British nation spends 11.23 billion pounds a year on pet food, toys, medicines and sex partners.

Pet food is the biggest expense item in Great Britain where the population spends 7.23 pounds a year on food for domestic pets; the spending means 586 pounds on average per a dog and 328 pounds per a cat.
 
About 1.75 billion pounds are spent on medical treatment of pets; and again, medical treatment of dogs is twice as expensive as that of cats (199 and 52 pounds per a pet correspondingly). Care for pets costs Britons 273 million pounds. Some owners insure their pets which yields 460 million pounds a year. MIGnews reports that about 70 per cent of pets in Great Britain have insurances today.
 
According to the official report of the RF Central Bank, one British pound is about 53 rubles. Russia's State Statistics Committee estimates the living wage in Russia at the rate of 2 thousand 121 rubles, which makes up approximately 40 pounds per month (480 pounds a year). So, the living wage in Russia is practically the same as the living optimum of a British cat. Is not it funny?
