Chairman of State Duma Boris Gryzlov said that demonstrations and pickets near the government buildings will be allowed in Russia.
"The draft law on demonstrations adopted by the State Duma, caused quite heated debates in the society”, said Mr. Gryzlov to reporters on April 2.
According to Boris Gryzlov, the “quite heated debates” were caused by the “list of the locations where demonstrations should be forbidden”. The areas near the buildings of federal and regional governments were on the list.
“The draft law should be refined, some amendments will be made to it”, Mr. Gryzlov said.
On April 1 the amendment was made to delete the government buildings from the demonstration ban list. Demonstrations will be prohibited only near the residence of Russian President.
