President Putin offered Iraq 4 billion dollars

Soon the amount of the Russian companies investments in Iraq can reach 4 billion dollars, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with Head of Provisional Governing Council of Iraq Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim, Interfax new agency reports.

Putin said that Moscow and Bagdad has always had good relations. "We expect to have good relations with the new authorities of Iraq as well", President said. He expressed the belief that the Iraqi people will solve all the problems they are facing today.

According to President Putin, Russia has "many friends in Iraq, not among the former Party and state authorities, but among ordinary people and specialists".

In his turn, Abdel-Aziz al-Hakim said that Bagdad is interested in active Russian companies’ participating in the reconstruction process in Iraq. He added that Iraq would like to use the experience of Russia in “transferring power to people.” “We are interested in using your experience of this,” RIA Novosti information agency quotes his statement.
