The Swedish Government yesterday decided to allocate around USD 200,000 to the Swedish Council for Foreign Trade in order to hold a series of events during St. Petersburg's 300th anniversary celebrations. According to Sweden's government chancellery, part of this money will be spent on an information technology week in St. Petersburg in 2003, with the participation of telecommunications company
Ericsson and Stockholm's Royal Polytechnical Institute.
Commenting on today's welcome decision, Swedish Trade Minister Leif Pagrotsky said that this type of event should help further strengthen relations between Sweden and Russia, creating a foundation for the development of new business relations.
