Why did Sergey Bakhvalov die?

Chemist Sergey Bakhvalov disappeared on August 18. As his relatives advised, a man called him at home and asked him to go outside. The scientist said to his family that he had some business to do, and off he went. Chemist’s family members said that he was leaving without any doubts or hesitation, there was an impression that the man, who called him, did not make him do anything.

However, Bakhvalov never came back. On August 26 he was put on the federal wanted list. It has been reported today that the body of the scientist was found in a Krasnoyarsk suburb. However, the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the Krasnoyarsk region has not confirmed this information yet.

A spokeswoman for the Office of the Public Prosecutor Nina Kazakevich said that there was a man’s body found on the territory of the region, indeed. She added that the body was rather rotten, so it was not possible to identify the man without a special expertise. Kazakevich said that the body would be identified only in 24 hours. For the time being, it has been determined that the man died ten days ago. This time period coincided with the disappearance of the scientist.

Sergey Bakhvalov was a well-known person in the city of Krasnoyarsk. He chaired the department of physical chemistry of the chemical department of Krasnoyarsk State University. Bakhvalov was also the head of the research center Crystal. This company won the tender for the utilization of chemical substances from the Kursk submarine. Yet, it is not clear, if there is a connection between the Kursk and Bakhvalov’s disappearance. Police insist on kidnapping.
