Jon Loessin: Fuel prices in the USA

Dear Editor:
 
In light of the rising price of oil and the highest gasoline prices in the United States ever seen, I notice that the left in America criticizes the President, the Vice-President, and so-called "big oil" for inflation of energy costs.  However, I wonder if those who "cast the first stone" have considered this:
 
Isn't it funny how when gas prices were low, the liberals wanted to tax it to "reduce consumption" and "help the environment," forcing Americans into economy fuel-efficient cars (that very few in America seem to want)? The proposed taxes by the left would have raised gasoline prices to $2.00 per gallon and were wholeheartedly supported by John Kerry, Al Gore, and others to achieve these "noble" environmental goals.

Now that gasoline prices ARE $2.00 a gallon, the same liberal minds want to lower gasoline prices because energy at these prices hurt "ordinary people," "families with children," and "working families" (as opposed apparently to "non-working, extraordinary families" like the Heinz-Kerrys?).

These same hypocritical elitists now want us "ordinary people" to be able to buy MORE gallons of gasoline for our $2.00... and it's all Bush's fault...
