British Airways will stop its daily service between Detroit Metropolitan Airport and London Heathrow Airport.
The airline said it will halt the flights on March 30. London is the only destination it serves from Detroit Metro, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) southwest of downtown.
"Detroit was a route very dependent on the auto industry, and the changing nature of this sector made it a very challenging market to be in," British Airways said in a news release. "We see no possible upswing in the business."
The company said it will contact passengers who have booked travel on the route after March 30 and will offer them alternative flights on British Airways or other carriers.
