The top American court on Thursday rebuked U.S. President George W. Bush and his anti-terror policies, ruling that his plan to try Guantanamo Bay detainees in military tribunals violated U.S. and international law, the AP reports.
Thousands of Pakistanis crossed into Afghanistan to fight during the U.S.-led attacks that toppled the Taliban regime in late 2001, according to the AP.
Although some were captured by coalition forces and sent to Guantanamo, scores of others were locked up in Afghan prisons, and they have not been freed despite Pakistani requests, Pakistan's interior minister said recently.
