England lost to Portugal on penalties in the quarterfinals of the 2004 European Championship, but Beckham isn't looking back.
At this year's World Cup, England's soccer has not been impressive. Still, three wins and a draw so far have given the team some confidence ahead of the match with Portugal.
The 31-year-old Beckham is playing at his third -and probably last -World Cup. He and England reached the second round in 1998 and made the quarterfinals four years ago.
Beckham, who vomited on the field after scoring against Ecuador in the second round, said the cooler weather expected for the match in Gelsenkirchen should help England, the AP reports.
Earlier in the tournament, players complained the heat was affecting them.
