Polish President Lech Kaczynski makes a one-day visit to Hungary on Friday with current affairs and the celebration of historical Polish-Hungarian relations both on the agenda.
Kaczynski will meet in Budapest with Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom and later with Viktor Orban, head of Fidesz, the main conservative opposition party.
Among the issues expected to be discussed are the European Union's constitution, energy security and regional cooperation.
In the afternoon, Kaczynski and Solyom will travel to Gyor, in western Hungary, to inaugurate a monument commemorating the centuries-old friendship between the two nations.
Kaczynski will not meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany, who will be in Brussels on Friday, Gyurcsany's press office said, reports the AP.
