A military truck hit a land mine on a dirt road in a tribal region in northwestern Pakistan, injuring three soldiers, an intelligence official said Tuesday.
The soldiers were riding on a water tanker traveling to a stream to fetch water for their base when the land mine went off late Monday in South Waziristan, a tribal region near the Afghan border, the official said on condition of anonymity in line with policy.
Authorities have blamed other attacks on suspected al-Qaida-linked militants, though no one claimed responsibility for the latest one near the town of Angoor Ada, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of Tank.
On Sunday, another soldier was injured when a roadside bomb exploded near a water tanker that he was driving, reports the AP.Subscribe to Pravda.Ru Telegram channel, Facebook, RSS!
