Rice calls for U.N. to demand Iran stop its nuclear program

Secretary of State &to=http://english.pravda.ru/main/18/88/354/16315_Condoleezza.html' target=_blank>Condoleezza Rice, coordinating with European allies, called on Thursday for the United Nations to take up Iran's "defiance" and demand it halt its nuclear program.

Rice, at a news conference, declined to say whether the U.N. Security Council would choose to try to punish Iran. "It is very clear that everyone believes a very important threshhold has been cleared," she said, however.
