VILNIUS, September 25 The excavation works on the Russian Su-27 crash scene in Lithuania ended on Sunday, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry press service said. The last air-to-air missile of the Su-27 was found on Saturday.
Ukrainian specialists are visiting Lithuania to help decode the information from the Su-27 flight recorder. “The flight recorder information is of great value, so the decoding process is slow and meticulous.
Every detail counts,” a representative of the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office told Itar-Tass. He said the decoding results would be important for Su-27 pilot Valery Troyanov, who is under pretrial investigation on the suspicion of breaching flight safety rules.
The source said that the flight recorder information might be decoded by Monday or Tuesday, ITAR-TASS reported.
