Jenson Button has not given up hope of a Williams return despite the ruling that he must stay at BAR for 2005.
F1’s Contract Recognition Board decided on Wednesday that Button was not within his rights to re-sign for his former team.
The news is a huge blow to the Brit whose determination to leave BAR was down to his belief that Williams provided him with the best chance of becoming world champion.
He said: "Naturally I am disappointed by the ruling, but as a matter of principle, I firmly believe in standing by the decision the CRB have reached today, says ITV News.
