Sharapova comes out a winner in China Open semifinal

&to=http://english.pravda.ru/science/ 19/95/380/13530_Sharapova.html' target=_blank>Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova set up an intriguing semi-final showdown with fellow Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova at the China Open after her opponent Jelena Jankovic retired hurt on Friday with an ankle injury.

&to=http://english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/365/13267_Sharapova.html' target=_blank>Serena Williams progressed to the last four when her opponent, Russian Nadia Petrova, also quit with a sprained ankle. The American top seed will face either Vera Zvonareva or Anabel Medina Garrigues.
