4 Russians rank among top 10 players

Four Russian women tennis players continue to be ranked in the top ten by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

The association released an updated ranking on Monday, in which Anastasia Myskina was the highest ranked Russian player. She has 3,720 points and is ranked 4th.

Elena Dementyeva (2,882 points) is ranked 6th, Maria Sharapova (2,386 points), the 17-year-old Wimbledon champion, is ranked 8th, and Svetlana Kuznetsova (2,113 points) is ranked 9th.

Justine Henin-Hardenne (5,307 points) and Kim Clijsters (4,421 points) from Belgium and France's Amelie Mauresmo (4,031 points) are the top three players according to the new rankings. Lindsay Davenport of the United States (3,548 points) is ranked 5th, Jennifer Capriati (2,758 points), another American, is ranked 7th, and Japan's Ai Sugiyama (1,925 points) is ranked 10th.

Ten more Russian women players were included in the list of the world's top 100 players: Nadezhda Petrova (1,857) is 12th, Vera Zvonaryova (1,748) is 14th, Yelena Bovina (1,199) is 22nd, Elena Likhovtseva (824) is 39th, Dinara Safina (803.75) is 41st, Lina Kranorutskaya (759.50) is 42nd, Vera Dushevina (513.50) is 72nd, Alina Zhidkova (490) is 76th, Maria Kirilenko (422.25) is 87th and Tatyana Panova (403) is 95th.
