EU High Commissioner to discuss Russia-EU relations in US

EU High Commissioner for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana is to visit the US on April 20-21.

On arriving in Washington on Tuesday, Mr. Solana will meet with US Vice President Richard Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell and US President's Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, said the press service of the EU Council.

The talks will focus on the key international problems, including the situation in the Middle East, Iraq, the Balkans, the Cypriote settlement, as well as combating international terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

After that, Javier Solana will address the seminar on counter-terrorism organized by the American Center of the US and Europe.

On Wednesday, April 21, Mr. Solana will arrive in New York and hold talks with the UN leadership on international security issues.

In addition, he will deliver a speech on Russia-EU relations during the dinner organized by the Eurasia Foundation.
