The six-sided negotiations on withdrawal from the nuclear crisis on the Korean peninsula have been extended because of differences which arose between the DPRK and the USA.
It was expected that Friday will be the concluding day of the second round of negotiations in Beijing. But they will be continued on Saturday, February 28, reported diplomatic sources in the Chinese capital.
This decision was made at today's, third plenary session which lasted a little more than an hour and a half.
At the same time, judging by the statements made by the USA and the DPRK the atmosphere of the dialogue has become heated. The Japanese agency Kyodo Tsushin reported that according to the US sources, the USA may refuse to participate in the six-sided negotiations, if the Democratic People's Republic of Korea does not make concessions and does not fully liquidate its nuclear programs, including those for peaceful purposes.
For his part, Pyongyang has agreed to refuse implementing its military nuclear program at the first stage if the USA stops considering the DPRK its enemy and guarantees the latter's security.
In the evening of February 26, a representative of the North Korean delegation published a statement in Beijing accusing the USA of blocking negotiations. At the same time, he promised that the DPRK will continue to make efforts to withdraw from the crisis on the Korean peninsula.
