The USA is ready to allocate some money for the closing of Russian military bases in Georgia, US State Secretary Colin Powell declared in an interview with a Georgian television channel. The Secretary of State pointed out that the USA would like to have a schedule for the withdrawal of forces. He added that the amount of hundreds of millions of dollars that had been mentioned in this connection did not look serious, and it would not be considered.
Powell remarked that upon completion of the training program for the Georgian army, supported by the USA, military cooperation between the USA and Georgia would be limited to the presence of a military attache in the US Embassy in Georgia, as in any other country.
