Russian Deputy Energy Minister Alexender Voronin and Hisham Ibrahim, the Iraqi official temporary in charge of Iraqi affairs in Russia, has met in Moscow over Russian-Iraqi fuel and energy collaboration today. According to the Russian Energy Ministry's press service, the Iraqi official mentioned an important role of Russian experts in the development of Iraqi oil and energy sector. He hopes Russian companies will participate in projects aimed at the restoration of the Iraqi fuel and energy industry, and the Russian official confirmed that domestic companies were interests in such projects.
Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov has sent invitations to his Iraqi colleagues, Oil Minister Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum and Energy Minister Ayham al Samarrai, to visit Russia to discuss collaboration in the fuel and energy sector.
