Chairman of the Iranian National Security Council Hasan Rouhani intends to meet IAEA Director General Mohamed El-Baradei on Saturday in Vienna to give him an official letter specifying Iran's stance on its own nuclear programs and facilities, IAEA representative Peter Rickwood announced in Vienna.
Mr Rickwood stressed he didn't know what the letter was about. According to him, the IAEA management "is waiting for good news from Tehran." The meeting between Hasan Rouhani and Mohamed El-Baradei will take place the day before the latter hands over his report on the status of Iranian nuclear programs to the IAEA Board of Governors.
It is expected to be done on Monday and it will be of great importance for the IAEA supreme body to take a decision on Iran at its November 20-21 session.
In case the information presented by Tehran does not meet the requirements specified by the resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors adopted on September 12, the Iranian nuclear programs issue may be sent to the UN Security Council for consideration. This body is authorized to impose sanctions on Iran.
