The Russian Federation's Minister for Anti-Trust Policy and Support of Entrepreneurship Ilya Yuzhanov was upbeat about the first day of the work of the joint Russian-Egyptian commission for trade, economic and scientific-technological cooperation.
"Our Egyptian counterparts share our position, recognising that many unresolved problems do remain in our relations", Yuzhanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The aggregate mutual trade turnover has reached $0.5 bln but mainly due to the Russian supplies, the Minister co-chairing the commission stressed. At the same time, Yuzhanov noted that over the past few years the indicators of trade turnover had become balanced.
For instance, the export of Egyptian goods to Russia, as he said, clearly tends to grow, increasing from $5 to $30 mln annually in the past few years. And this is without the considerable revenues from Egypt's tourism sector, Yuzhanov noted.
On Monday, October 27th, the commission will resume its work.
