Ukrainian parliamentarians are going to speed up the process of delimitation of the Russian-Ukrainian border in the sea of Azov and the Kerch strait, says the draft resolution of the Ukrainian parliament /Supreme Rada/ adopted as a result of hearings on Ukrainian-Russian relations. The draft will be put to vote on Thursday.
Simultaneously, in the draft resolution Ukrainian parliamentarians recommend to the Ukrainian president to "ask the United Nations Security Council and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe to consider the situation around the Kosa Tuzla island, as a result of which the territorial integrity of Ukraine may be violated".
More, the Supreme Rada foreign committee recommends that Leonid Kuchma "consider the possibility of turning to The Hague International Court" for settling the Ukrainian-Russian Kosa Tuzla territorial dispute.
Parliamentarians also recommend to the Ukrainian president to ask the member states of the Memorandum on the Security Guarantee in Connection with Ukraine's Joining the December 5, 1994 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to put to use all the mechanisms of ensurance of Ukraine's territorial integrity for settling the problem of building a dam in the Kerch strait.
