Nagorno Karabakh considers itself one of first victims of international terrorism

A delegation of scientists, writers, journalists and public figures from the US and Great Britain lead by Vice Speaker of the House of Lords of British Parliament has arrived in Nagorno Karabakh. The Nagorno Karabakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Rosbalt that Minister of Foreign Affairs Ashot Gulyan, while meeting the delegation, said that during the course of the war with Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh was one of the first countries to collide with international terrorism. 1,500 Afghan soldiers fought on the side of the Azerbaijanis in the war.

'We tried to raise this problem at the time, but an adequate response from the international community did not follow because at the time the world did not image all the dangers of terrorism. I am confident that the events of September 11 in the US was a continuation of the initiative of Baku during the time of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh war,' said Ashot Gulyan. He expressed deep regret that almost all the candidates for president in Azerbaijan are using the Karabakh card for artificially increasing their pre-election rating.
