The schedule of the political and diplomatic contacts before the end of the year is expected to be "fairly busy," said Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Losyukov.
A visit by Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov to Japan is planned for November or December. The exact date of the visit is being negotiated along diplomatic channels, Losyukov said at a press conference held after the Russian-Japanese forum that ended Saturday in Irkutsk, a city in East Siberia.
According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, among the main items to be discussed during the visit will be matters related to economic cooperation between the two countries.
It is planned to conduct consultations early in October in Moscow on bilateral relations on the level of deputy foreign ministers. A meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries is not ruled out either, Losyukov said.
