Tom Frechette, press secretary of George Bush Sr., told RIA Novosti that details of the forthcoming visit to Russia of the former US President and the father of the present head of the White House were being specified.
He stated that the visit would take place in the current month but its details and itinerary were still being agreed upon.
Frechette reported that taking into account the private character of foreign visits of Bush Sr., and, according to the existing procedures, the office of the ex-President usually refrained from making any official statements on his visits.
George Bush Sr. who celebrated his 79 anniversary this summer left the White house 10 years ago. He is regularly invited to speak on the subject of international relations and the domestic situation in USA and he has often had meetings with leading foreign politicians.
While speaking in the Taft University in Boston, Massachusetts, the ex-president stated in February that he considered it important for himself to maintain contacts throughout the world to have an opportunity to facilitate American contacts with other countries and to wage a dialogue "with those who believe in the importance of relations."
