ITERA formally warned Georgia yesterday that deliveries of natural gas to Tbilisi would halt as of today. As told to Rosbalt in the press service of Tbiligaz, the city's gas distributor, the stoppage is based on a current debt of USD 780,000 owed to ITERA.
ITERA's office in Georgia said Tbilisi 'is a chronic debtor' to the company, despite the fact that Tbiligaz 'virtually every month bills the city for its current debts.'
Currently, ITERA is the sole provider of natural gas to Georgia.
