The introduction of the single currency can conclude the formation of the single economic space on the territory of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, Russian deputy minister of economic development and trade Dmitry Sukhoparov said after the government's session this Thursday. The session discussed progress in the implementation of the Statement by the Presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine on the formation of the single economic space.
"The introduction of the single currency would be the concluding stage in the formation of the single economic space, after the member states switch to the free movement of goods, capital and services," Sukhoparov said.
At the same time, he stressed that the document discussed by the government today did not have a clause on the introduction of the single currency. "This is just a prospect," the deputy minister said. (to be continued).
