Ukraine is set to purchase 10bn to 15bn cubic meters of Iranian natural gas a year. A corresponding memorandum was signed at a meeting of a Ukrainian-Iranian energy task force in Kiev, Ukraine, on July 28 to 31. The memorandum envisages, among other things, working out ways to transit Iranian gas via Ukraine to other European countries. To this end, it was decided to set up a special task force encompassing representatives of related companies. The decision was made by Ukrainian Minister of Fuel and Energy Sergey Yermilov and the Iranian Deputy Energy Minister of Petroleum yesterday, the press service of the Ukrainian ministry reported. In addition, the Iranian official proposed Ukrainian companies to participate in the development of Iranian deposits and operate on the Iranian oil and gas market. Yermilov, in his turn, invited Iranian partners to attend the International oil and gas conference to be held in mid-October in Kiev.
