A Russian delegation arrived in India to exchange experience of using microbiology technologies and biofertilisers created on its basis.
Director of the all-Russian research agrochemistry institute Viktor Sychev told RIA Novosti that there exist a lot of strain bacteria in India due to stable climatic conditions in the country, which are of interest for the Russian side. The exchange of new collections of micro-organisms necessary for the production of biofertilisers is expected to be continued.
Another Russian scientist Georgy Laptev pointed out in an interview with RIA Novosti that the biotechnologies elaborated in the Soviet Union in the 1970s were handed over to India which made a great progress in their development by beginning the industrial production of biofertilsers on their basis. According to Laptev, India annually produces 10,000 tons of biofertilisers which help raise the cropping power by 10-15 percent.
Another example is that in the beginning of the 1990s India received the Russian technology for the production of an environmentally friendly preparation for combating malarial mosquito, which was widely used.
