Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is sending the ministry's special envoy for Mideastern settlement Andrei Vdovin to the Mideast on June 10 to join other members of the group of four international intermediaries and regional parties to implement the Road Map Plan.
In line with the document, the first stage of the settlement process envisages that security issues will be solved, social and economic situation on the Palestinian territories improved, the blockade lifted from Palestinian towns, freedom of travel gradually restored, Palestinian convicts released and other measures to pacify the situation taken, plus that Israelis and Palestinians will resume their dialogue.
"Vdovin's trip is part of a large bulk of political work Russia does to achieve all-round settlement in the Middle East and establish stable and just peace in the region," a source in the ministry told RIA Novosti.
