Iran is prepared to join in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict settlement process if they are asked to by the Georgian government, said Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Hussein Amian-Tusim on May 25.
Amian-Tusim said Iran respects the territorial integrity of Georgia and proposed to settle the problem by peaceful means. 'Tehran places great significance on the peaceful situation and stability in the Caucasus region,' said Amian-Tusim. He is also hopeful that Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze will visit Iran in the near future.
