The members of Al-Qaeda that allegedly function in Iran might have been involved in the recent terrorist acts in Saudi Arabia, high-ranking sources in the US administration told the US-based TV channel Fox News.
The sources said there had been interceptions of ciphered communications between Al-Qaeda activists based in Iran and Saudi Arabia, which might have been discussions of the terrorist acts in the latter country.
A terrorist kamikaze attack in Er Riad on May 12 killed 34 people, including some Westerners, and wounded about 200.
Washington officials insist that Al-Qaeda activists leaked into Iran from Afghanistan, a place they had fled after Taliban's defeat.
