In June-July 2003, Russia will host another meeting of experts within the framework of the Russian-American ministerial working group on energy. US Deputy Secretary of Energy Kyle McSlarrow is expected to arrive in Moscow to participate in the meeting.
The Russian Energy Ministry reported on Monday that such an agreement was reached during a telephone conversation between Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov and US Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham.
Abraham said he was satisfied with the session of energy ministers from the International Energy Agency member countries held on April 29, especially with the participation in it of the Russian delegation.
Both officials positively assessed the practice of holding bilateral business summits on energy. Another summit will likely be held in September 2003 in Russia.
Yusufov and Abraham said that the energy dialogue between the Russian Federation and the US was "a major component of bilateral co-operation, which has been developing dynamically and consistently."
