Russian anti-SARS humanitarian aid to be delivered to Beijing, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi

Russia's humanitarian aid delivered to China by an Emergencies Ministry plane in the morning of May 17 will be turned over to the medical centre of Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, said Deputy Health Minister Wang Longde.

SARS is the curse of the whole of humanity, said the deputy minister and added that Russian assistance to China speaks of a feeling of genuine friendship. According to Wang Longde, the Chinese medics want to collaborate with their Russian colleagues in combating SARS. China is ready to provide information and requisite assistance in combating the dangerous disease. China wants above all to collaborate in preventing the spread of the virus in the border regions of China and Russia.

In the morning of May 17 an Il-76 plane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered to Beijing 30 tons of humanitarian aid, including lung ventilation equipment, medicines, antibiotics and disinfectants, to the tune of approximately 1 million dollars.
