The leadership of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, or the OPEC, welcomes Russia's consent to participate in the 125th special conference of the world oil cartel, which is taking place in Doha on June 10-11, OPEC Secretary-General Alvaro Silva Calderon told RIA Novosti.
The conference in Doha will focus on vital issues dealing with quotas for production and export deliveries of raw oil and the tactics and strategy the cartel and independent oil exporters, including those from Russia, will adopt in respect of oil production and export of "black gold" to world energy markets, he said.
Therefore, the OPEC leadership attaches such importance to Moscow's participation in the conference, the OPEC Secretary-General disclosed. It is expected that the person attending it will be Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov.
