On Tuesday, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov met OPEC President, Qatar's Minister of Energy, Industry, Water and Electricity Abdallah bin Hamad al-Attiyah.
"The parties agreed that it was necessary to hold wider bilateral and multilateral consultations between the leading gas-producing countries. They achieved an agreement to hold these consultations at the level of experts soon," reads the press release of the Russian Energy Ministry.
The ministers discussed prospects of Russia-Qatar co-operation in production and supplies of hydrocarbons. Al-Attiyah proposed Russian companies take more active part in tenders on the implementation of projects on the production of hydrocarbons in Qatar and the creation of relevant infrastructure.
