Kiev is considering a possibility of sending Ukrainian military men to Iraq, Chairman of Supreme Rada Vladimir Litvin stated at a press conference on Wednesday following his meeting with Chairman of the Russian Federation Council /the Parliament's upper chamber/ Sergei Mironov.
According to the Ukrainian speaker, "at the current political consultations Ukraine is considering a possibility of sending military units to Iraq as part of stabilisation force." Sergei Mironov, in his turn, pointed out that this was a home affair of an independent state which is able to make decisions on sending its soldiers to another state.
It was also reported that the anti-Iraqi forces had made Ukrainian military men a proposal to join the stabilisation force in Iraq. "Ukraine is currently conducting intensive consultations on the issue with the American side," Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service Markiyan Lubkivsky said.
