The Three-Month Plan for Oil Production has Been Exceeded in Azerbaijan

In the first quarter of this year Azerbaijan produced 2.948 million tons of oil, that is, 1.9 percent above the plan.

This year, the republic plans to produce altogether 15.25 million tons of oil, a great part of which will be produced by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (GNKAR), and less than a half - by the Azerbaijan International Operational Company, reported the GNKAR.

The gas production in this period in Azerbaijan has also topped the plan - 1,697 billion cubic metres.

In 2002, the republic purchased four billion cubic metres of gas from the international group of companies - ITERA.

This year, imports of gas will be increased.
