Baghdad expects the UN Security Council to take decisive steps related to the Iraqi problem, said Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow Abbas Khalaf on Wednesday, when answering journalists' questions.
On Wednesday, the UN Security Council is holding an extraordinary session on the situation around Iraq.
"At present, the Iraqi people are protecting not only their country, but also the international legislation and thus the reputation of such an authoritative body as the UN Security Council," the Ambassador said. Baghdad expects that the session "will finally take positive and crucial decisions on the Iraqi issue," he pointed out.
"The fact that the UN Security Council is holding a session on the Iraqi problem is a blow to the US aggressive policy against Iraq," Khalaf emphasized.
