Moscow considers Cuba its key partner in Latin America.
This was disclosed on Monday by Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov when opening the talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez.
According to Ivanov, today trade and economic relations are successfully developing between the two countries. The present session in Havana of the Russo-Cuban Inter-Governmental Commission on trade-and-economic and scientific-technological co-operation will "give a new impetus" to economic relations, the Russian Foreign Minister noted.
Moscow is satisfied with the level of political relations between the two countries, Igor Ivanov added.
Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez, in his turn, suggested that he and his Russian colleague discuss in detail key international issues, including the situation around Iraq. The Cuban Foreign Minister believes the two countries are of the same opinion on many international problems.
