Russian and Mexican Foreign Ministers Express Their Deep Concerns Over Military Actions Against Iraq

In the course of a telephone conversation Russian and Mexican Foreign Ministers Igor Ivanov and Luis Derbez expressed their deep concern over the continuing military action against Iraq and its crucial humanitarian consequences.

The Ministers also discussed the possibilities of returning to the settlement of the Iraqi issue by political means within the framework of the UN Security Council, the Russian Foreign Ministry Department of Information and Press disclosed on Monday.

At present Mexico is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
