Russian, Afghan frontier guards discuss border protection issues

Representatives of Russian and Afghan frontier services discussed issues of protection of the Tajik-Afghan state boundary from penetrating terrorist groups, refugees, the smuggling of drugs, arms, ammunition, terror means, and from diversions.

The meeting between the Russian and Afghan frontier guards took place on Russia's initiative in the sector of the Russian Federal Frontier Service's Kalai-Khumbsky frontier detachment on Tuesday, the Russian frontier guards' press service in Tajikistan reported on Wednesday.

The Russian frontier guards discovered a cache, containing about 20 kg of drugs, in the sector, the press service added
