On July 23rd, Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin discussed with the British, German, US and French ambassadors the Georgian-Abkhaz settlement within the framework of the so-called group of UN Secretary-General's friends. They also considered "the introduction of the draft document on Abkhazia's status, prepared within the UN," the press and information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Loshchinin informed the ambassadors about the results of his trip to Georgia on July 18th-19th, 2002, his meetings with President Eduard Shevardnadze and his spokesman at the Georgian-Abkhaz talks, Adzhar leader Aslan Abashidze.
